Site Debut: Phagens Promo Video Work

I forgot I had linked my twitter to this blog and so it got debuted a little sooner than planned. So here it is, the first official post talking about work!

I work quite a bit over at Bulb Studio and for this particular job I worked as a photo assistant and digital tech for the full fashion shoot and video complement we did for the client Phagan’s that went exceedingly well. Chad Boutin was the fashion photographer  on the set and I love working with him because not only do I get to see his amazing way with models, but he also takes care to explain exactly what he is doing and why.

Bulb just posted the video from the shoot, and at 5:23 into the video you can catch a glimpse of my back in the shadows in front of the digital workstation we set up.

It was really cool from a digital tech point of view because Phagan’s had a large HDTV set up in the room that we were shooting in so I was able to hook my laptop up to that. Combine that with a synchronized Bridge window and some raw presets and the client, photographer and anyone else on set was able to see the images as they came up with the very rough toning applied to them. It was really rewarding to hear the gasps from the Phagan’s beauty school students as Chad’s stunning fashion images would come across the screen. That’s part of why I like being a part of a crew as a photo assistant or digital tech so much, you know your efforts are going to make the photographer’s vision and make something truly unique and amazing.

The video is after the jump

With out further ado, here is the video:

What, no mention of the other assistant? At any rate I love to see this video getting posted everywhere. Perhaps I’ll be linking to it soon enough.
